PAW Patrol:
A Day in Adventure Bay

The Winning Pitch

There is an episode of the television show “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” where Fred Rogers’ theme is that superheroes need to stay healthy to accomplish their goals — this inspired a winning pitch to a Nickelodeon RFP.

PAW Patrol: A Day in Adventure Bay includes daily morning and evening tasks like brushing teeth, eating, dressing, etc. Repetition of these self-care tasks helps children make connections with their own routines.

Between morning and evening tasks, the pups complete rescue missions set in Adventure Bay. Driving around the town fosters spatial orientation skills and helps children construct an internal image of the pups’ community.

The game’s design features natural breaks in the play — for example, at the end of the day, children put their pup to bed and turn out the lights. Breaks give children “permission” to leave the game and its characters.
